AFTER THE BUILDERS HAVE FINISHED

Building Complete Does Not Always Mean Move-In Ready

Renovation dust can settle on floors, cabinetry, window frames, ledges, fixtures and newly finished surfaces throughout the home. Standard household cleaning is often not enough to remove this fine residue safely and thoroughly.

Our post-renovation service is planned around the completed work, the materials used, the condition of the property and the areas requiring detailed attention.

A CLEAR POST-RENOVATION CLEANING SCOPE

What’s Typically Included In Post-Renovation / After Builders Cleaning

Every renovation is different. The exact cleaning scope must be confirmed before booking and will depend on the completed work, remaining dust and residue, surface materials, access conditions and selected services.

Residue removal requires inspection and our agreement before booking. We may decline removal where it cannot be carried out safely or could damage the surface. Complete removal is not guaranteed.

Work We Do Not Provide

The following work is outside our cleaning services and cannot be booked as an add-on.

Work We Do Not Provide

Hazardous-material handling or removal, including asbestos, lead and uncontrolled silica dust

Specialist treatment of extensive or structural mould; biohazard, bodily-fluid or pest-contamination cleanup

Moving heavy furniture or building materials

Work in unsafe or inaccessible areas, or work requiring scaffolding or specialised access equipment

Building-rubbish, rubble or skip-bin removal

Cleaning within active or unsafe construction areas

Specialist stain restoration, polishing or repair work, including repairs to scratches, damaged finishes and building defects

Fine Construction Dust Can Resettle

Fine renovation dust may remain inside ventilation systems, wall cavities, joinery gaps or other areas that cleaners cannot access. Some dust may resettle after the initial cleaning, particularly if air-conditioning is operated or other trades return to the property.

Where the project has produced significant fine dust, a separate final touch-up clean may be recommended after the dust has settled. Any additional visit will be discussed and quoted separately.

Cleaning Cannot Correct Building Defects or Existing Damage

Post-renovation cleaning can significantly improve the appearance and cleanliness of a completed project. However, it cannot repair scratches, damaged glass, defective finishes, paint damage, old stains, chipped surfaces or other building defects.

Before beginning difficult residue removal, we may photograph or point out existing damage. We will not continue with a method that may cause unreasonable damage to a new surface without discussing the risk with the customer.

SITE-READINESS REQUIREMENTS

The Site Must Be Ready Before Cleaning Begins

If additional building work occurs after the cleaning, new dust and residue may require another service.

Before our team arrives

All building and renovation work must be completed.

Builders and other trades should have finished their work.

Building rubbish, rubble and large offcuts must be removed.

Wet paint, silicone, grout and sealants must be cured.

Electricity, running water and safe lighting must be available.

Exposed wiring, nails and unsafe materials must be secured.

The property must be safely accessible.

Areas requiring cleaning should be free from ongoing construction activity.

A SIMPLE WAY TO GET STARTED

A Site-Specific Scope Before We Begin

1. Tell Us About the Renovation
Let us know which areas were renovated, when the work will finish and which parts of the property require cleaning.
2. Send Photos or Request a Site Visit
Please provide clear photographs. For larger projects, extensive dust, windows or unusual residue, we may require a site visit.
3. Confirm the Scope and Price
We will confirm the included areas, exclusions, selected additions and price before accepting the booking.
4. Complete the Cleaning After All Trades Finish
Our team follows the agreed plan once the site is safe and ready. If the site condition differs materially from the information provided, we will contact you before completing additional work.

FAQs

How is post-renovation cleaning different from deep cleaning?
Deep cleaning addresses household build-up in an occupied home. Post-renovation cleaning focuses on fine construction dust and residue left after completed building or renovation work.
When should I book the cleaning?
The cleaning should take place after all builders and trades have finished, building waste has been removed and paint, silicone, grout and sealants have cured.
Can you guarantee that all construction dust will be removed?
We remove accessible settled dust within the agreed scope. Dust inside ventilation systems, wall cavities and inaccessible gaps cannot be fully removed and may resettle after the first clean.
Do you remove paint, silicone, cement and adhesive residue?
These items require inspection. Removal depends on the material, condition and risk of damage. We will not use aggressive methods that may scratch glass or damage newly finished surfaces without prior agreement.
Are windows and tracks included?
They can be included when selected and confirmed before booking. Exterior windows must be safely accessible. High windows requiring specialised equipment may need a separate contractor.
Do you remove building rubbish?
No. Builders’ waste, rubble, large offcuts and skip-bin rubbish must be removed before our cleaning team arrives.
Why is a site visit sometimes required?
A site visit allows us to assess the amount of dust, surface materials, windows, access, residue and safety conditions so that the work and price can be confirmed accurately.
Are scratches or builders’ defects covered by the cleaning service?
No. Cleaning cannot repair scratches, defective finishes, damaged glass or construction faults. Existing damage may be photographed before detailed residue removal begins.
